Call for democratic political and constitutional reform

EOHR in cooperation with the Committee of Defending Democracy will held on 16 July 2003, a meeting on political and constitutional reform which will take place at 7:00 p.m in the Journalists Syndicate in Cairo.

The speaker is Mr. Hussein Abdel Razik the Committee Rapporteur, Mr. Nabil El Hilaly , the lawyers and a prominent defender of freedoms in Egypt, Mr. Mohamed Sayed Ahmed , a journalist and Mr. Hafez Abou Se’da , the Secretary General of EOHR. As well as the members of the committee will participate in the conference who are representatives of political parties and Civil Society.

In this meeting Mr. Hafez Abou Se’da will make a presentation on “Human Rights: Towards reforming what have been spoiled by the emergency law” which includes the viewpoint of EOHR towards the necessary procedures which shall be taken in order to carry out democratic political and constitutional reform.
