Associations who are members of Civil Coalition for the Monitoring of Elections (CCME) insisted on observing the elections, referring to their upcoming supervision of 329 public committees and 40% from polling stations; supervision will be divided equally over the participant associations to cover electoral districts (North and South Egypt).
Coordinator of the coalition and secretary-general of The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) Hafez Abu Seada declared this after the meeting held by coalition members in EOHR.
During the meeting, Abu Seada declared his refusal to Mamdouh Mareay's, head of Supreme Committee for Presidential Elections, declarations to prevent civil society associations from monitoring the elections; Seada declared also that the twenty-two associations who are members of the coalition will monitor both presidential and legislative elections regardless of the committee's unjustified disagreement, in which its refusal contradicts with the Constitution and international instruments.
Supervisors will take their places according to their electoral registrations to be capable of getting inside the polling stations as voters and making supervision during the voting. They also will monitor outside the polling stations, and they will have testimonies from the voters after voting, finally, the supervision will take place both outside and inside the polling stations.
Abu Seada stated that they will contact the supervisors during monitoring to confront any problems facing them.
Coalition members agreed to design badges - hold the coalition's logo- for the supervisors all over the governorates, it will be signed by the seal of the participant association and they will show these badges to the authorities who are responsible for the elections (presidential or legislative).
