EOHR denounces US plan to overthrow Al -Jazeera
23/11/2005

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) is anxious towards BBC network news around the United States' course to overthrow Al-Jazeera Channel in Qatar and other seats.

A report issued by 'Daily Mirror' newspaper declares that US President George Bush is making a secret plan to overthrow Al-Jazeera seats in different places including Qatar, in which it covered US attack to Al-Falouga in 2004.

According to (Daily Mirror)'s report, it was declared that President Bush introduced the plan to the confederate British Prime Minister Tony Blair, but the latter advised Bush that this plan is a risk and it could turn over the world against him.

On the other hand, the British Prosecutor gave orders to 'Daily Mirror' and the British newspapers to stop publishing any information concerned with Bush's secret plan, an official report then declared its approval.

According, EOHR declares that if the information is correct, then it is considered a violation to the right to life and personal security, freedom of expression, opinion and though, in which it doesn't suit with the international covenant for civil and political rights (19 civil) and the Universal Declaration for Human Right. EOHR also denounces the British Prosecutor's decree to stop (Daily Mirror)'s publications on Bush's plan.

Moreover, EOHR calls on both British and American administration to check the current information, in which the situation sheds light on the incident of bombarding 'Palestine Hotel' in Iraqi capital (Baghdad) and the assassination of Al-Jazeera Photographer (Rashid Waly), who was covering the violent acts between US forces and the troops of Al-Shiaa leader (Moqtada El Sadr) in (20/5/2004).

It also tells about (8/4/2004) incident of bombarding Al-Jazeera office (Baghdad) carried by a US fighter, which led to the assassination of Al-Jazeera correspondent Tarek Ayoub.
