EOHR submits its Concurrence Recommendations 'Constitutional Reform Sways between Acceleration and Postponement' to members of People's Assembly Legislative Commission

On the 28th of December 2005, The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) submits the ninth concurrence recommendations 'Constitutional Reform Sways between Acceleration and Postponement' to members of People's Assembly Legislative Commission as a useful tool in the discussion of the constitutional amendments that will be held on Constitution [1971], to manage an updated constitution in the future.
N.B - EOHR held its concurrence in February 2005, the group attended were political parties' representatives, Shura and People's Assembly members, masters of constitutional law and finally some civil society activists. The concurrence sessions discussed the visions for constitutional reform, the political parties' refusal to the way the President of the Republic is selected and re-considering his constitutional competences.
Moreover the group attendants also discussed the gaping between the three state authorities via activating the censoring role of the legislative power, taking command of the Executive, stating the method of transferring the state authority from centralization to decentralization, and finally the capability of balancing the day-to-day economic changes that the public witnesses daily with the constitutional provisions.
