EOHR prepares a schedule for a new constitution stands in Constitution 1971

In recent times, The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) is scheduling a new state constitution; the schedule is prepared by members of Egyptian Constitutional Forum Group (ECFG) which holds lecturers of constitutional law, representatives of political parties, some members of People's Assembly and civil society activists' representatives, and EOHR is the forum's general co-ordinator; the first session will be held in the mid of the upcoming January.

The ECFG will be divided into four work-groups, starting with the first group will be responsible for stating the performances of state's regime (head of the republic, the Executive, the Legislative, the Judiciary…etc), the second group's role is to perform the general rights and duties which must be scheduled in the new constitution, the third group is obliged to reform the society's economic and social basic factors, and finally the fourth group will reform the local court's decrees and adopting non-centralization in the state's laws.

In fact, the ECFG has been formed in EOHR ninth concurrence performances closing session 'Constitutional Reform between Acceleration and Postponement' convened in February 2005; following is the ECFG members' names list:
    1) Dr. Ibrahim Darweesh, lecturer of Constitutional Law (Cairo University)
    2) Mr Abu al-Ezz al-Hariry, a former senate in People's Assembly
    3) Mr Ahmed Abdel Hafeez, lawyer attached to Court of Cassation
    4) Dr. Ahmed Thabet, lecturer in Faculty of Political Science (Cairo University)
    5) Mr Bahei al-Deen Hassan, Chair of Cairo Institute for Human Rights Studies (CIHRS)
    6) Mr George Esaaq, member of the Egyptian Movement for Change (Kifaya)
    7) Dr. Gamal Zahran, a senate in People's Assembly and a lecturer in Faculty of Political Science
    8) Mr Hafez Abu Seada, Secretary-General of the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR)
    9) Dr. Hassan Nafaa, lecturer in Faculty of Political Science (Cairo University)
    10) Hussien abdel Razeq, founder of the Defending Democracy Committee, and Tagammu Party's Secretary-General
    11) Counsellor Saeed al-Gamal
    12) Mr Salah Eisa, editor-in-Chief of Cairo (al-Qahera) news paper
    13) Mr Abd Alaah Khalil, an attorney of Cassation Court
    14) Dr. Essam al-Arian, a former senate in People's Assembly
    15) Dr. Ali al-Sawy, lecturer in Faculty of Political Science (Cairo University)
    16) Mr Ali Fath al-Bab, a senate in People's Assembly
    17) Mr Farouq al-Ashri, a member in the political board of al-Nasseri Party
    18) Mr Farid Zahran, Chair of al-Mahrousa Centre
    19) Mrs Farida al-Naqash, editor-in-chief of (Literature and Criticism) Adab Wa Naqd Magazine
    20) Dr. Fouad Abdel Meneam Riad, a senate in National Council for Human Rights (NCHR)
