Egyptian Platform in Alexandria Prepares a draft for Constitutional amendments

The members of the Constitutional Platform agreed in Alexandria to expand the public participation in the preparation of the founding draft of Alexandria Governorate, to include formal and informal civil society participants, with the invitation of partisans, trade union members and representatives of the civil society at the governorate.
The Constitutional platform shall hold its fourth meetings on Saturday, April 15th 2006 at the Bar Association Headquarters in order to discuss the constitutional amendments presented by the drafting committee of the platform.
The meeting aims at reaching a constitutional project suggested by the people of the governorate.
The project shall be discussed in the platform's meeting in Cairo, which will include all participants in the platform in governorates.
The meeting of Alexandria will be attended by University professors, lawyers and representatives from parties and trade unions.
