EOHR in cooperation with Fredrich institution will hold a workshop entitled “ Towards releasing the freedom of organizing and meeting in Egypt “ on 15/12/2007 at Piramiza Hotel – Dokki .

Group of human rights activists , members of people’s assembly and Shura council , professors of constitutional law and representatives of political parties and trade unions will participate in the mentioned workshop .

Holding this workshop coincides with the violation against the right to organize and prepare meetings on the level of political parties or syndicates or assemblies .Government imposed a severe restrictions on the previous right despite the repeated demands of the political and partisan power to cancel these restrictions .

The workshop will discuss the defectives of laws which organize both of parties ,assemblies and trade unions .It will deal with the method of solving these defects and the proper mechanism for treatment .

The workshop will start with general discussion about laws of assemblies and parties and trade unions . Participants will be divided into 3 groups whereas every group will discuss one of the previous laws . The workshop will end with a conclusion of the discussion made and it will shed the light on meetings held by EOHR and Fredrich institution 3 months ago in order to determine such recommendations concerning the right to organize and prepare meetings in Egypt according to the international covenants for human rights and Egyptian Constitution which stated an essential guarantee to this right .
