EOHR calls for immediate releasing of Mosad Abu Fagrn

EOHR expresses its deepest worries concerning the arrest of Mosaad Soliman Hassan Hussein known by “Mosaad Abu Fagr”,writer and jurist activist and one of Sinai leaders , calling for his immediate releasing .
Mosaad Abu Fagr was surprised by a force of Ismailia police burst into his house on 26/12/2007 at 2:00 am because of his activity to call for releasing Sinai detained sons and stopping human rights violations against Sinai inhabitants. His house was examined and his mobile and Hard disk drive were confiscated .He was arrested and confined at Balouza police stop on the administrative borders between Sinai and Ismailia .He was transferred at 4:00am to the security directorate of North Sinai .The public prosecution charged him with instigate riots and dispersing public money in case No.1538 -2007 -administrative Rafah . He was detained pending the case for 15 days and now he was confined at El Arish prison .
EOHR expresses its condemnation concerning tracing persons due to their opinions or believes or their criticism against government or just for practicing their rights to express about their opinions by all peaceful means including their rights to assemblage and organizing. Also it condemns groups of violations such as arbitrary detention ,torture , mistreating and sentence persons to severe punishment or exceptional trials according to laws that penalize opinion and expression and the freedom to organize.
In this concern ,EOHR calls Attorney general for releasing Mosad Abu Fagr Also it repeats its calling for canceling all exceptional laws including law of emergency No.162/1958 and assembly law No.10 /1914 and demonstration law No.14/1923 as it violate the right of opinion and expression and assemblage .
In 2004 EOHR already issued a report entitled” El Areesh ............. a random detaining ,arbitrary confinement and torture “ after sending fact finding mission in the wake of Sinai explosion and detaining many inhabitants and confining hostages from women and children .
